Advice and Information

Additional Advice to Presenters

Please note that in some rooms a fixed beamer and a computer is installed, so you might bring your presentation on a usb-drive or cd-rom even if you were planning to present with an overhead projector.

Check your room beforehand to see whether all the equipment you might need for your presentation is available.

Advice to Presenters

All presenters are required to provide a written text, summary or other documentation of their presentation at the conference. Presenters should give one copy of their written summary to the chairperson of their session.

In addition, to assist the audience, all presenters should prepare handouts and overhead transparencies or a Powerpoint presentation in English, which covers the main points of the presentation. Please also prepare your presentation well so that it is not rushed and is clearly delivered.

Please bear in mind that you will be speaking to an international audience, the majority of whom may not be familiar with the context and education system in your own country. Please therefore avoid the use of acronyms and do not use expressions that describe aspects of your education system (e.g. Key Stage 1, AS Level) without explanation.

For the Ghent conference all accepted posters will be exhibited in thematic groups all day on Thursday and Friday. Poster presenters will have to be available at the following times in order to answer questions from delegates who may visit the poster exhibition:

Thursday 20 and Friday 21 September from 12:15 to 13:15.

Please ensure that your travel arrangements allow you to be present to exhibit your poster at these times.
